Sassan Saffari is half Persian, half English, Scottish, Irish, French, Norwegian, Finnish, Swedish, and Danish. Many halves. He was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. His grandmother, Edith Conklin Weaver—an artist, poet, and art lover—had a profound influence on his life, work, and development as an artist. He spent his student years honing his craft in San Diego at his alma mater, MiraCosta College Theatre. During his time in the program, he was fortunate to receive scholarships and awards through the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, as well as the opportunity to perform in more than thirty productions in San Diego—professionally and at his college.

Through the Kennedy Center, he studied at Steppenwolf West with Laurie Metcalf, Jeff Perry, French Stewart, David Razowsky, Kim Rubinstein, Alexandra Billings, and many others who helped him become the versatile actor he is today. He was also invited to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts as a guest artist and award recipient.
