Sofie Gråbøl (Danish pronunciation: [sofiːˀə ˈɡ̊ʁɔb̥øl]; born 30 July 1968) is a Danish actress. She has appeared in a number of films, beginning with the lead role in the 1986 adaptation of Tove Ditlevsen's novel "Childhood Street," and at the age of 17 she acted alongside Max von Sydow in "Pelle the Conqueror." On television she appeared in the series "Taxa" and "Nikolaj and Julie."

Gråbøl became known in Denmark for emotional roles, but international fame came to her through the cold and detached protagonist — police inspector Sarah Lund in three seasons of the series "The Killing" (Forbrydelsen). "The Killing" was broadcast with great success on BBC4, won a BAFTA award, and brought Gråbøl celebrity status in the United Kingdom.
