Biography
Tyrese Gibson was born on December 30, 1978, in Los Angeles, California. Tyrese's mother, Priscilla Murray Gibson, raised him and his three younger brothers without a father, who left the family in 1983. Gibson's career began when he won a talent show at the age of fourteen. In 1994, Tyrese Gibson appeared in a Coca-Cola commercial. At seventeen, thanks to his looks, he got into the modeling business with Tommy Hilfiger.
Tyrese Gibson began his acting career in 1996. He played his first leading role in the 2001 film "Baby Boy." Gibson gained fame for his role as Roman Pearce in the 2003 action film "2 Fast 2 Furious." Tyrese also appeared in the films "Flight of the Phoenix," "Waist Deep," "Blood for Blood," "Interception," "Transformers," "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," "Death Race," "Fast Five," "Fast & Furious 6," "Furious 7," "The Fate of the Furious," "F9" and "Legion."
On stage, Tyrese performed under the pseudonym Black-Ty. He released his first album, titled Tyrese, in 1998. Tyrese's studio albums 2000 Watts, I Wanna Go There and Alter Ego were released in 2001, 2002 and 2006, respectively.
