He studied at the Royal Ballet School, and at the age of 17 was accepted into the company Adventures in Motion Pictures (AMP). He won the lead role in the production of Swan Lake, which ran on the London and Broadway stages from 1997 to 2000.

He made his acting debut in the film Van Helsing (2004) alongside Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale. He gained the greatest fame for his role as director Blake Collins in the film Step Up 2: The Streets.

In 2012, he appeared in several episodes of the fourth season of the youth series 90210: The Next Generation as Mitchell Nash, a scandalous Hollywood star for whom Naomi Clark organizes events.
