Biography
Born on August 5, 1961 in Alma-Ata. His mother, Gulzhavgar Baizhanbayeva (died January 1999), worked at the newspaper "Socialist Kazakhstan". His father was journalist Anuarbek Aukenov (died 1961). He is the nephew of the announcer of the State Committee of the Kazakh SSR for Television and Radio Broadcasting, People's Artist of the Kazakh SSR (1973; Honored Artist of the Kazakh SSR since 1967), Honorary Radio Operator of the USSR (1958) Anuarbek Nygmetzhanovich Baizhanbayev (March 26, 1923, Semipalatinsk — October 21, 1989, Alma-Ata). During his school years he practiced swimming, Greco-Roman wrestling, and speed skating. He graduated with honors from the acting faculty of the Alma-Ata State Theater and Art Institute in 1982.
In the late 80s in the city of Almaty he played in a youth theater, where he performed many roles in numerous productions. He played at the theater "Familiar Faces" in the city of Almaty. In 2013 he played in the play "America" based on the novel of the same name by F. Kafka. The production was staged by Andreas Merz from the Berlin Volksbühne theater. Since 1984 he has been a staff actor at the Sh. Aimanov Kazakhfilm film studio, where he has worked since 1978. From 2002 to 2004 he was head of the acting department of the film studio JSC "Kazakhfilm" named after Sh. Aimanov. In 2016 he was a member of the jury of "Miss Almaty-2016". In 2017 he appeared in an advertisement for "Shah" tea.
