American actress, playwright, producer, and screenwriter. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, to a photographer and an artist. She graduated from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, and in the mid-2000s began her professional career appearing on both Broadway and Off-Broadway stages.
