Gomez Addams is usually portrayed on screen as a courteous and likable character. Director Tim Burton wanted him to be as Charlie Addams described him — fat and pig-like.

Filming took place in Romania.

While preparing for the shoot, Jenna Ortega learned to play the cello, and also took lessons in canoeing, fencing, archery and German. According to actress Joy Sunday, the canoeing sessions were especially difficult — every day for an hour, the actors involved in the project and some of the stunt performers raced each other in canoes, sometimes starting at half past five in the morning.

Wednesday does not blink often. She blinks only when she is injured, or when she is caught off guard. It all started because she was not supposed to blink in a certain scene, and Tim Burton liked it so much that he told Ortega not to blink on camera anymore.

Jenna Ortega came up with and choreographed her own dance to The Cramps' "Goo Goo Muck," drawing inspiration from British singer Suzi Quatro, choreographer Bob Fosse, and 1980s club music.

In December 2021, Thora Birch left the project; Christina Ricci replaced her, and some scenes had to be reshot.

When a worker unfurls street banners at the 7th minute of the 3rd episode of season 1, you can notice a wedding ring on the ring finger of his right hand. In Romania, by tradition, rings are worn on the right hand before the wedding, and only during the wedding do spouses put rings on the ring finger of the left hand.

In the German dub, Thing is called eiskaltes Handchen, which translates as "little ice-cold hand."
