Stories from the set

The series is based on "The Cage" (1966). That was the name of the script for the original pilot episode of Star Trek, which was rejected, leading to its reworking and the reworking of the entire concept of the project, which in turn led to the creation of the series that was filmed from 1966 to 1969.

Bruce Horak, who plays Hemmer, is actually blind – as is the race of his character, the Aenar.

Work on the series began during the period of restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic, so the sets of «Enterprise» were not yet ready. According to executive producer Akiva Goldsman, because of this the first episode had to be filmed in parts – both at the beginning and at the end of work on the first season.
