About the series
The perfect robbery.
What it’s about
A mysterious figure known only as The Professor recruits eight criminals, each with nothing to lose, for the biggest heist in history. After five months of intensive preparation, they storm the Royal Mint of Spain, taking dozens of hostages and barricading themselves inside. Their goal: print and escape with 2.4 billion euros while surrounded by police forces. The Professor orchestrates the operation from outside, engaging in a tense cat-and-mouse game with the authorities as the robbers inside navigate escalating tensions and unforeseen challenges.
What hooks you
The series stars Úrsula Corberó as Tokio, the narrator and a key member of the crew, and Álvaro Morte as El Profesor, the mastermind behind the plan. The ensemble includes Itziar Ituño as Raquel Murillo, the police inspector leading the negotiation. The production used the building of Spain's Higher Council for Scientific Research as a stand-in for the Royal Mint, with interior scenes shot in a studio. The scripts were kept secret from the cast, with actors receiving only their current scenes to preserve suspense.

All facts 7
- In season 1, episode 12, when Tokyo fires a machine gun, there is a close-up of the ammunition belt, which is loaded with blank cartridges.
- The creators of the series did not receive permission to film at the real Royal Mint of Spain, so instead they filmed at the building of the Spanish National Research Council. The interior scenes were shot in a studio.
- The character nicknamed Tokyo borrowed a lot, from her hairstyle to her clothing style, from Mathilda, played by Natalie Portman, in the film «Léon» (Luc Besson, 1994).
- The episodes were filmed in the order in which they were intended to be broadcast, and the participants in the filming were given scripts and lines only for the current plot so that no one would know what would happen later.
- Denver's laugh was written into the plot even before Jaime Lorente was cast in the role. The script simply required a “creepy laugh,” and everyone who came to the audition interpreted that description in their own way.
- Rio was the youngest member of the robbery. In the story, he was only 19 years old. The actor who played him, Miguel Herrán, was 20 years old at the time of filming.
