In 1983 Los Angeles, cheap crack cocaine from the Dominican Republic starts spreading through the streets. A young dealer, a wrestler and a CIA agent each get pulled into the trade from different sides, setting them on a collision course as the epidemic takes hold.

- The first pilot episode failed, and Dave Andron became one of the creators and showrunner of the project. After that, another pilot episode was filmed with some changes in the cast.
- "Snow" is slang for cocaine.
- According to showrunner Dave Andron, the creators of the series initially intended to make the characters' wardrobes exactly match 1980s fashion, but ultimately decided to do without such details as huge shoulder pads, which would distract a modern audience.
