Vera's Second Life

What it’s about

Vera is a philologist and deputy director for science at a library. Unmarried and childless, she still mourns a pregnancy she terminated years ago. After a random meeting with a Romani woman, she finds herself in a parallel reality. Here she is an economist at a development company run by Anton, her first love and now her lover. She has a husband, Nikolai, and a son. But in this life she has acted only for herself: her subordinates are afraid of her, her friend keeps away, her son despises her, and her husband faces investigation over a fraud by Anton that she failed to stop. Now she must repair the damage in this other existence and find contentment in her true one.
