About the series

Their future is on the line.

What it’s about

Spencer James stars for his high school team in South Central Los Angeles, a district known for crime and racial tension. He has no plans to leave until a coach from Beverly Hills High invites him to join his squad. Accepting means a modern school in a wealthy, prestigious, safe neighborhood, with privileges and a promising football future. Yet among the rich students he feels out of place, and new teammates look down on the newcomer the coach has high hopes for.

What hooks you

The series is inspired by the life of pro football player Spencer Paysinger. Michael Evans Behling plays Jordan Baker, Daniel Ezra plays Spencer James, and Greta Onieogou plays Layla Keating / Layla Baker. Taye Diggs appears as Billy Baker. The slogan is “Dream Big. Stay Real.”

Who it’s for

It suits viewers who enjoy sports dramas where ambition meets social tension, and those drawn to stories about adapting to a privileged world while staying true to one’s roots.
