Stories from the set

A landman, at least in the oil sector, is a negotiator between exploration companies and landowners. He facilitates contracts between a landowner who wants to sell the development rights to their plots and the company he represents.

Director and screenwriter Taylor Sheridan originally created the series with the intention of casting actor Billy Bob Thornton in the key role of Tommy Norris.
