What it’s about

Mary Alice Young takes her own life in her perfect house in a lovely suburb, and from her elevated point of view she begins to comment on the lives of her family, friends and neighbors. Her death leaves her four close friends – Susan Mayer, Lynette Scavo, Bree Van de Kamp and Gabrielle Solis – in shock and pushes them to search for the reason behind it. Each woman is dealing with her own troubles: Susan is a single mother looking for an ideal man, Lynette has given up a career to raise her children, Bree keeps dark secrets behind a model wife and mother facade, and Gabrielle, married for money, seeks real love in an affair with her young gardener.

The director considers the role of Bree Van de Kamp to be the most successful role in the TV series, as over seven famous actresses auditioned for it: Kim Cattrall, Rosanna Arquette, Helen Hunt, Cindy Margolis, Kristin Davis, Katey Sagal, and Nicolette Sheridan, who soon got the role of the bitchy businesswoman Edie Britt.
