What it’s about
Inspector Gabriel Serpent's holiday ends when a corpse is found with its buttocks used as a bicycle stand. He leads the investigation in Kingston-Falls, a town where the police station is at risk of closing. The case is complicated by the arrival of Cynthia Quinn, an investigator with questionable methods and a drinking problem.
