About the series
A lesson in saving humanity
What it’s about
In 1988, near a small Soviet town by a missile-defense radar, a mysterious object falls from the sky. Three ordinary sixth-graders—Lech, Tolya, and Sema—go into the forest hoping to find a meteorite and win fame. Lech gets lost, and the police search for him sets off events that bring one local into contact with something very strange. Soon the boys notice that adults are acting as if replaced: leaving homes, speaking oddly, behaving secretly. They suspect spies or saboteurs targeting the radar, but the truth is far more frightening.
What hooks you
Konstantin Smirnov directs this nine-episode series, described as a retro thriller in the vein of 'Stranger Things'. Matvey Kulagin, Georgy Pytyev, and Rostislav Kharin play the young leads, with Viktoriya Isakova and Dayana Gudz among the cast.
Who it’s for
It is a good pick for those who like coming-of-age adventures mixed with eerie sci-fi and Cold War paranoia. It will also suit viewers drawn to stories where ordinary kids confront an uncanny threat.
