What it’s about

Ritual killings in a small town baffle the police, and residents attribute them to a mermaid from old folklore. Yuri Bakhtin, a Moscow expert on serial killers, arrives to help. He does not believe in such creatures, but the more he investigates, the more his rational convictions are tested. The case is complicated by his past: he once lived in this town and left behind old friends and an ex-wife. As the suspect list expands, it begins to include people close to him. Bakhtin must navigate legal boundaries, family tensions, and an antagonist's interference while pursuing the killer.
