What it’s about

Jack Reacher, a former major in the military police, arrives in a small town and is promptly arrested on suspicion of murder. The local police soon realize he is not the man they are looking for, and he offers to help track down the actual culprits.

What hooks you

Alan Ritchson prepared for the role by reading all 24 of Lee Child's novels and insisted on doing his own fight scenes. He gained 14 kg for the part, and the production kept extra food on set for him. The series received Saturn Award nominations for Best Adventure Series in 2025 and 2026.

  1. Preparing for the role of Jack Reacher, Alan Ritchson read all 24 books in the series about this literary hero written by English author Lee Child.
  2. Alan Ritchson insisted on performing the fight scenes himself, which are usually performed by professional stuntmen.
  3. Before filming began, Alan Ritchson weighed 92 kg, but for the role he gained weight up to 106 kg. A supply of food was kept on set specifically for him.
  4. Before filming, Alan Ritchson thought he wouldn't have to memorize many lines. He remained under this misconception until the moment he had to describe the case in detail – a four-page monologue in 30 seconds.
