Russ Holliday's college football career ended in disgrace after a costly mistake and an on-air assault of a fan. Eight years later, he sees a chance to return to the sport: tryouts for a university team in southern Georgia. He steals prosthetics and a wig from his father, a Hollywood makeup artist, and becomes Chad Powers, a talented and shy walk-on.
