Trivia

  1. Many scenes were filmed exactly where the series' action unfolds according to the plot. In particular, the filmmakers were allowed to shoot in the premises of the 1st police station, which was already closed at the time of filming. Two weeks later, workers had already appeared there and begun preparing the building for demolition. The scenes in the old hotel where one of the heroines works were filmed on location at the "Turist Hotel" in Copenhagen's red-light district. The hotel, which had been used by human traffickers for their purposes, had been sold by the time of filming and was about to undergo a complete renovation.
  2. Mustakas was played by Anders Rekalos, a retired police officer and technical advisor for the entire project.
  3. The title of the series is a reference to a 1925 bronze statue by sculptor and artist Einar Utzon-Frank (1888-1955), a professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. It is installed in front of the entrance to the Copenhagen Police headquarters. The almost 4-meter-tall statue is shown in the opening credits. The sculpture personifies the struggle between good and evil.
