What it’s about

Samira and Rob return to the husband's childhood home in Hinckley Hills with their small son. A mansion across the street, empty for twenty years, gets a new resident named Gary. When Samira brings pastries to welcome him, he calls the police on her for trespassing. On maternity leave and restless, she gets to know some neighbours and starts to suspect Gary is hiding a crime. With her new friends, she begins an investigation of her own.

What hooks you

Keke Palmer and Jack Whitehall are in the cast. The series was filmed on the same sets, with minor changes, used for Joe Dante's 1989 comedy of the same name. Wendy Schaal, who played Bruce Dern's wife in that film, appears in the pilot as Judy from the town library.
