About the series

Small town doctor. Big time issues.

What it’s about

Dr. Martin Best leaves a high-powered surgical career in Boston to become the general practitioner in a small East Coast fishing village where he spent childhood summers. His medical expertise is solid, but his direct and sometimes rude approach alienates the residents who depend on him. He also struggles with a hidden blood phobia and difficulty in personal relationships, while trying to reconnect with his aunt, one of his few ties to the past.

What hooks you

Josh Charles stars as Dr. Martin Best. The series is directed by Todd Holland, Jay Karas, and Jamie Babbit, and is a remake of the television series "Доктор Мартин".

Who it’s for

It will appeal to those who enjoy fish-out-of-water stories where a competent professional clashes with a close-knit community, and who like character-driven comedy-drama with small-town quirks and personal growth.
