What it’s about

Dr. Martin Best leaves a high-powered surgical career in Boston to become the general practitioner in a small East Coast fishing village where he spent childhood summers. His medical expertise is solid, but his direct and sometimes rude approach alienates the residents who depend on him. He also struggles with a hidden blood phobia and difficulty in personal relationships, while trying to reconnect with his aunt, one of his few ties to the past.
