Primal

What it’s about

A caveman returns from fishing to find his family devoured by a pack of predatory dinosaurs. Nearby, a tyrannosaur fails to protect its young from the same attackers. The two survivors, each alone and grieving, come together. In a world where everything that moves is either food or a threat, they begin an unusual partnership.

What hooks you

Created by Genndy Tartakovsky, the series is wordless, relying on visuals to convey its story. It was nominated for a Saturn Award in 2021. The idea originated while Tartakovsky was working on the final season of "Samurai Jack", though the project was shelved until after that series concluded.

Who it’s for

It is a good pick for those who enjoy action-driven animation with minimal dialogue and a focus on visual storytelling. It will appeal to viewers who like intense survival scenarios, prehistoric settings, and stories about unlikely bonds formed through shared trauma.
