10 facts
  1. On July 21, 2019, the film set a world box office record and became the highest-grossing in history.

  2. In its first days of release, the film set several box office records: the fastest to reach $1 billion in grosses (5 days), the biggest worldwide opening weekend ($1.2 billion), the biggest worldwide opening weekend for the IMAX format ($91.5 million), and the biggest worldwide opening weekend for the 3D format ($540 million).

  3. On May 9, 2019, the film surpassed $2.2 billion in worldwide grosses, thereby displacing James Cameron's «Titanic» from second place on the list of the highest-grossing films of all time. The latter, in turn, congratulated Kevin Feige's team on Twitter.

  4. Natalie Portman did not participate in the filming of the movie; instead, a deleted scene from «Thor 2: The Dark World» was used, for which the actress recorded voice-over.

  5. Only Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. read the full version of the script. The other actors familiarized themselves exclusively with the part in which their characters appeared.

  6. The first official trailer for the movie became the first in the history of the YouTube channel to gain over a million likes in less than 4 hours.

  7. The film was shot simultaneously with the science fiction action film Avengers: Infinity War (Anthony and Joe Russo, 2018). Filming took 200 days.

  8. Robert Downey Jr. (who played Tony Stark – Iron Man) had stashes of quick snacks laid out everywhere. All the scenes in which his character chews something and offers his co-stars a snack were pure improvisation.

  9. While working on the time travel idea, the screenwriters consulted with real quantum physics experts.

  10. All the costumes of the main characters shown in the film in the quantum realm are products of visual effects (or VFX – the process by which imagery is created or manipulated outside the context of a live-action shot), because filming began before the costume designers were able to develop the concept for these costumes.
