In its first days of release, the film set several box office records: the fastest to reach $1 billion in grosses (5 days), the biggest worldwide opening weekend ($1.2 billion), the biggest worldwide opening weekend for the IMAX format ($91.5 million), and the biggest worldwide opening weekend for the 3D format ($540 million).
  3. On May 9, 2019, the film surpassed $2.2 billion in worldwide grosses, thereby displacing James Cameron's «Titanic» from second place on the list of the highest-grossing films of all time. The latter, in turn, congratulated Kevin Feige's team on Twitter.
  4. Natalie Portman did not participate in the filming of the movie; instead, a deleted scene from «Thor 2: The Dark World» was used, for which the actress recorded voice-over.
