About the film

What it’s about

Sól, a headstrong nine-year-old, is sent to stay with distant relatives on a remote farm. She is expected to work and grow up there, but instead finds herself drawn into a drama she can barely understand.

What hooks you

Based on a novel by Guðbergur Bergsson, the film features Ingvar E. Sigurðsson and Thorvaldur Kristjansson. Its literary source and rural Icelandic setting promise a quiet, character-driven story.

Who it’s for

It will appeal to those who like slow-burning dramas about childhood and rural isolation, and to readers of Scandinavian literary fiction.
