About the film

Elvis sings and tells his story like never before.

What it’s about

Elvis Presley's Las Vegas residency and tours in the 1970s are reconstructed through long-lost footage and rediscovered audio recordings. The film presents Presley's own perspective on his life and career, drawn from materials unearthed during research for a previous project.

What hooks you

Director Baz Luhrmann assembles rare 16mm footage from "Elvis on Tour", 8mm from the Graceland archive, and recordings of Presley telling his side of the story. The cast includes Elvis Presley, James Burton, and John Wilkinson in archive footage.

Who it’s for

It suits viewers who appreciate archival documentaries that let a performer speak for themselves, and those drawn to the spectacle and intimacy of a music icon's later years.
