Magellan

What it’s about

Fernão de Magalhães breaks with the Portuguese crown over its colonial brutality and offers his services in Madrid. The Spanish ruler tasks him with opening a new sea route to the spice-rich archipelagos of the Pacific. Magellan leads a fleet into uncharted waters, where his men face starvation, mutiny, and the crushing monotony of the open sea. When they reach Cebu, his determination to spread Catholicism sets him against the islanders.
