About the film
What it’s about
High school student Ai struggles with the weight of social expectations, finding it difficult to stand against the current. Then her classmates begin forming a human pyramid without explanation. Teachers and the principal start acting strangely, urging everyone to take part. The formations spread beyond the school, consuming the entire town. Only Ai and Yuu, a transfer student who also has trouble fitting in, remain unwilling to follow the crowd.
What hooks you
Yûta Shimotsu directs from his own screenplay. Anna Yamada plays Ai and Yuzu Aoki plays Yuu. The film's premise of a town overtaken by gymnastic formations offers a distinctive take on conformity, with the tension between individual resistance and collective pressure driving the story.
Who it’s for
It is worth a look for anyone who enjoys horror rooted in everyday social anxiety, where the monstrous emerges from ordinary group behavior rather than supernatural forces.
