About the film

What it’s about

Vera and Nikita have been married for three years. During a heated quarrel, they argue about what makes a "normal man" and a "good wife." The next morning, each wakes up beside a "perfect half": Nikita finds a blonde wife who cooks well, while Vera gets a caring businessman husband who buys her favorite croissants for breakfast. Now they must decide whether life is better with a loved one or an ideal one.

What hooks you

Directed by Maryus Vaysberg, the film stars Oksana Akinshina as Vera and Volodymyr Zelenskyy as Nikita. It was nominated for a Georges Award for Best Russian Comedy in 2016. The premise plays with the idea that dreams can come true, but not always as expected.

Who it’s for

It suits viewers who enjoy lighthearted romantic comedies with a fantastical twist, and those who appreciate Russian humor about relationships and gender roles.
