What it’s about

Philip Raven, a hired assassin, is enraged when his payment for a job arrives in marked bills. He vows to find the nightclub executive who double-crossed him, Willard Gates. On a train out of town, Raven meets Ellen Graham, a singer newly employed by Gates. Ellen is engaged to the police lieutenant hunting Raven, yet she tries to steer the hit man toward a better path while he evades capture and plans his revenge.
