Biography
Veronica Lake (November 14, 1922 – July 7, 1973) was an American film actress and model. She gained recognition from both audiences and critics, primarily for her role in the film "Sullivan's Travels" and for her femme fatale roles in film noirs with Alan Ladd in the 1940s, and was also known for her "peekaboo" hairstyle. Her success proved short-lived: a string of failed marriages and a long struggle with mental illness and alcoholism continued until her death from hepatitis.
