What it’s about
Agent J has spent years with the unflappable Agent K, but nothing prepares him for the day K's life and the planet's safety are at stake. J learns that a vital protective shield was never built because K was killed in 1969. To set things right, J must travel back to that year and work with a younger version of his partner.
What hooks you
Will Smith returns as Agent J, with Josh Brolin playing the young Agent K and Tommy Lee Jones as the older K. Barry Sonnenfeld directs. The film received a nomination for Best Foreign Comedy at the 2013 Georges awards.

- In the film, the Apollo 11 launch site is referred to as Cape Canaveral. And that would be natural for Agent J, but not for the young Agent K, since the cape was renamed Cape Kennedy after President Kennedy's assassination in 1963. The name changed back to Cape Canaveral only in 1973, after the Apollo 11 launch.
- The striking strip on a matchbox is located on its back side. In 1969, such strips were located on the front. They were moved for safety by a law from 1973.
- Papua New Guinea gained independence in 1975. The national flag was adopted on July 1, 1971. Accordingly, in 1969 this flag did not yet exist, yet it is clearly visible in several shots during the speech before the launch of Apollo 11.
- When young Jay and Kay go to eat pie, the waitress places the plate of pie in front of Kay. In the next shot, when he is talking to Agent Jay, his mouth is already full.
- Countdown clocks displayed at the launch of Apollo 11 in 1969 did not exist.
- The Spanish flag waving in the wind during the launch scene at Cape Canaveral is the country's current flag. Under Franco's regime in 1969, Spain had a different flag (a coat of arms with a black eagle).
