About the film
What it’s about
In Sheffield, Brendan Ingle, a former steelworker who has become a boxing trainer, discovers Naseem Hamed, a young fighter from a working-class background. Hamed's unorthodox style and cocky persona set him apart, and Ingle sees the potential to turn him into a champion. Their partnership faces the racism and Islamophobia of 1980s and 1990s Britain as they climb through the ranks.
