Souheila Yacoub got the lead role after Sébastien Vaniček saw her on a theater stage in the play Tous des oiseaux. Sébastien initially wanted to cast Souheila in Infested, but the actress was already busy with other projects, including Dune: Part Two.

According to director Sébastien Vaniček, after the success of Infested he received offers from several Hollywood studios. However, most of them involved working from already finished scripts, which did not interest him. Only the offer to make his own story in the Evil Dead universe convinced the director to take part in the project.

Souheila Yacoub tried to perform as many of her own stunts as possible. After filming ended, her body was covered in bruises, and it took almost a month to recover.

Filming for the movie took place in New Zealand from July 22 to October 17, 2025.

Several references to Sébastien Vaniček's previous work, the film "Infested," can be noticed in the movie. Among them are a videotape recording of the film, the appearance of a spider, and the signature Nike TN sneakers that the director specifically included in the frame.

According to actor Hunter Doohan, filming the car scene took several days, as the limited space in the cabin required frequently repositioning the camera and changing the actors' placement.

To better prepare for the role, Hunter Doohan rewatched all the films in the "Evil Dead" franchise and the series "Ash vs Evil Dead" before and during the casting process. He also studied the film "Infested" to understand the working style of director Sébastien Vaniček.
