What it’s about
Clark, a furniture store owner, is reeling from his divorce and seeing a therapist. While sleeping at his shop, he discovers a portal in the basement to an infinite labyrinth of yellow rooms and corridors. Space behaves illogically there, and something dreadful may lurk around any corner.
What hooks you
Chiwetel Ejiofor stars as Clark, with Renate Reinsve as Mary. Director and screenwriter Kane Parsons drew inspiration from Valve's Portal games. The production built roughly 2,800 square metres of yellow corridors, so disorienting that crew members occasionally got lost in them.
Who it’s for
It is worth a look for anyone who enjoys slow-burning dread set in liminal spaces, where the horror comes from an environment that makes no sense and a monster that stays just out of sight.
