What it’s about

Sidney Prescott lives with her family in a quiet town, wary of her teenage daughter's friends. A video call from an old Ghostface and the brutal murder of her daughter's friend at school shatter that calm. Sidney joins forces with Gale Weathers to uncover who now wears the mask.

Neve Campbell returns as Sidney Prescott, with Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers. Kevin Williamson directs from a script he co-wrote with Guy Busick. The film is the fifth in the series where the killers have personal motives against Sidney. Shooting took place in Atlanta.

  3. The film was originally intended to be directed by Christopher Landon.
  4. Patrick Dempsey declined to return as Detective Mark Kincaid due to scheduling conflicts. In addition to his involvement in other projects, Patrick was also hindered by extraordinary circumstances: in early 2025, wildfires raged in Southern California.
  5. According to director Kevin Williamson, he tried to secure Emma Roberts's return as Jill in this film, but the actress declined to take part in the project.
  6. McKenna Grace admitted that she lost her voice while filming the movie.
