Rebecca Ferguson said in one interview that she agreed to work with Tom Harper in order to work alongside Cillian Murphy.

The character of Harry Kirton (in the series Peaky Blinders, 2013-2022, he played Finn Shelby) does not appear on screen in this project. He is not even in the family photographs in the house of Tommy, played by Cillian Murphy. The actor himself refused to appear in this project, stating that he did not want to become an actor of one role. Screenwriter Steven Knight confirmed that this character is alive in the 1940s and lives in Liverpool, although he is never even mentioned.

Cillian Murphy invited Barry Keoghan to play Duke Shelby via text message. Keoghan texted Murphy to wish him a happy Father's Day, and Murphy responded by offering him the role.
