What it’s about

In a small town in the south of France in the early 1990s, four women have been close since childhood. Now in their twenties, they face hardship and limited opportunities, yet they keep a resilient and cheerful spirit, supporting each other through life's ups and downs. When one of them, a single mother of three, learns that her welfare checks have been reduced, she fears for her family's stability. Feeling powerless against societal inequalities, the friends make a drastic choice: they rob a bank. What starts as a desperate act soon escalates into a series of increasingly daring heists.

Mélissa Drigeard directs Lyna Khoudri, Laura Felpin, Izïa Higelin and Mallory Wanecque as the four friends. The film draws on a real-life case in which five women robbed seven banks near Avignon, disguising themselves as men with wigs and fake moustaches, and were dubbed the "Gang of Amazons" by the press.
