Biography

Abhishek Bachchan (born 5 February 1976 in Mumbai, Maharashtra) is an Indian actor and producer. He is the son of Indian actors Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan and is married to actress and former Miss World Aishwarya Rai. Bachchan made his debut in J. P. Dutta's film Refugee (2000), but success came to him only in 2004, when he starred in the commercially successful Dhoom and the critically acclaimed Yuva. For his work in Yuva, he received several awards, including his first Filmfare Award in the Best Supporting Actor category, which he then won for two more consecutive years.

In 2010, he received his first National Film Award (as producer) for the film Paa, which was honored with the award for Best Feature Film in Hindi. He has appeared in films such as Bunty aur Babli, Guru, and Dostana, and after that established himself as one of the leading actors of Bollywood.
