Biography
Anna Schudt (born 23 March 1974, Konstanz) is a German actress, voice artist for radio plays and audiobooks, and winner of the International Emmy Award. She became widely known above all for her role as Inspector Martina Bönisch in the series Tatort, which she played from 2012 to 2023. In addition to numerous theatre productions — such as Mary Stuart at the Munich Residenztheater — she has appeared in more than 70 films and television projects since 2002.
Anna Schudt grew up in the Egg district of Konstanz, the elder of two daughters of a biochemist and a body therapist. She gained her first theatre experience at the Konstanz Theatre. At the age of 17 she began acting training at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich.
In 1994, during Dieter Dorn's artistic directorship, she became a permanent member of the Munich Kammerspiele ensemble. Engagements at the Schaubühne Berlin and, from 2001, at the Bavarian State Theatre in Munich followed. There her roles included Luise in Intrigue and Love and Sonya in Uncle Vanya. In 2002 she and the ensemble were awarded the Kurt Meisel Prize for their performance in Hecuba. In 2006 she was again honoured with the Kurt Meisel Prize for her portrayal of Mary Stuart in the drama of the same name.
In 2010 she played the title role in Anna Karenina at the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus.
