American actor, known for the role of Hannibal Lecter's prison nemesis, Dr. Frederick Chilton in the films The Silence of the Lambs and Red Dragon, as well as the role of Assistant Director Scott Guber in David E. Kelley's series Boston Public. He also had a recurring role as Judge Cooper in Kelley's series The Practice and Boston Legal.
