Born Catherine Fabienne Dorléac.

Daughter of dramatic actor Maurice Dorléac and Renée Deneuve. She graduated from the Lycée La Fontaine in Paris.

Her real name is Catherine Dorléac. Deneuve is Catherine's screen pseudonym, for which she used her mother's maiden name. The young woman had to do this in 1960, when Françoise invited her to star in "The Door Slams." The thing is that Catherine had a famous sister, Françoise Dorléac. Therefore, her younger and still unknown relative decided: the famous actress Dorléac could only be one of a kind in cinema.

Deneuve never acted in the theater because of stage fright.
