Biography
Devon Bostick was born in Canada, into a family of filmmakers. His father, Joe Bostick, is an actor, and his mother, Stephanie Gorin, is a casting director. His mother's parents were immigrants from England, and his father had Norwegian roots.
Devon Bostick got his first role at the age of seven, in one episode of the Canadian television series "Forensic Medical Examination Mysteries." He subsequently played supporting roles in such films as "Ghost Team," "The Other," and "Land of the Dead." The breakthrough for the actor was the role of Brent in the film "Saw 6," released in 2009.
In 2010-2012, he starred in the film series "Diary of a Wimpy Kid," based on the books by author Jeff Kinney. Bostick played Rodrick, the older brother of the main character, who often bullies him. In the second film of the franchise, "Rodrick Rules," Devon's character became central. In the fourth film, the entire old cast was replaced with a new one, which provoked outrage among viewers; they especially disliked the replacement of Devon Bostick, who in their opinion was the best performer of the role of Rodrick. The films brought him two awards and two nominations for the "Young Artist Award."
