Biography
Eamonn Walker is a British actor. He was born on 12 June 1962 in London (UK). At the age of nine, he decided to become an actor after watching the film In the Heat of the Night with Sidney Poitier in the lead role. After finishing school, he studied at the University of North London, first studying social work, then seriously took up dancing. He later became a member of the London dance troupe Explosive Dance Theatre Company, but due to a leg operation he was forced to leave dancing and switch to the acting profession. His professional acting debut took place in the 1983 musical Labelled With Love, staged to songs by the band Squeeze. In 1985 Walker began acting on television, his first role was in an episode of the television series Dempsey and Makepeace, followed by roles in the procedural drama A Very English Murder and the film Young Soul Rebels, for which he received praise from film critics.
In 1997 Walker moved to the USA and got the role of Kareem Said in the American television series Oz, which he played for six seasons. For this role he received the CableACE Award in the category Best Actor in a Dramatic Series. In 2005 Walker made his Broadway debut — he played Mark Antony in the production of Julius Caesar with Denzel Washington in the lead role. Since 2012 Walker has played one of the main roles, Fire Chief Wallace Boden, in the NBC television series Chicago Fire and its spin-offs Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med.
