Trivia
- Anthony Ferraris still works as a firefighter. It is thanks to his involvement and help that all the fire episodes look so realistic.
- In many rescue services (and the Chicago Fire Department is no exception), employees are not allowed to grow facial hair, as it can interfere with the airtight seal of a breathing mask. A mustache is not considered a hindrance.
- The series was filmed in Chicago. Firehouse 51 is actually number 18. "Molly's Bar," which some characters co-own, is Lottie's Bar in the Bucktown neighborhood.
- The scenes in the dining room were filmed both at the firehouse and at the studio. If a door is visible to the left of the stove, it was filmed at the studio. If there is a drinking fountain there instead, filming took place at Firehouse 18.
