   Real name is Lee Dong-suk (Lee Dong-suk).

   Before beginning his acting career, he worked as a personal trainer for professional fighters Mark Coleman and Kevin Randleman.

   At the age of 15, after watching the film Rocky, he began boxing in order to become a professional boxer.

   In 1989 he emigrated to the United States with his family.

   Since his family barely made ends meet, Ma took on any odd jobs even as a teenager. He worked as a cleaner, dishwasher, store clerk, bartender, laborer, and even started a business related to powdered milk. The longest he worked was as a bouncer at a club and as a fitness trainer, in particular as a personal trainer for professional fighters Mark Coleman and Kevin Randleman.
