Nick Nolte (born Nicholas King Nolte) was born on February 8, 1941, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Helen King, a supermarket owner, and her husband Franklin Arthur Nolte, a former football player. Nick's paternal grandfather had German roots. Nick grew up with his older sister Nancy, who later became an employee of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
