He attended Palos Verdes College in California. He works as an actor, model and photographer. He was in a relationship with model Helena Christensen (a son, Mingus, was born). Since 2016 he has been in a relationship with actress Diane Kruger; the couple has a daughter, Nova.

Norman Reedus has a son from a common-law marriage with Helena Christensen - Mingus Lucien Reedus (13.10.99).

In February 2005 in Berlin, the actor was in a car accident during which the bones of the left half of his face were shattered. He underwent several surgeries, as a result of which four metal pins were inserted into his nose, and part of his left eye socket was replaced with a titanium plate.
