Glyukoza (the name is also stylized as Glyuk'oZa, real name - Natalya Ilyinichna Chistyakova-Ionova; born in Moscow) is a Russian pop singer, film and voice actress, TV presenter, and winner of the 2003 MTV EMA award. Her debut album "Glyuk'oZa Nostra" became an international hit, and the singles "Nevesta" and "Nenavizhu" topped the charts in Russia and Ukraine. Open sources contain information that the singer's birthplace is the city of Syzran, but according to the singer herself and her PR manager, this is not true, and the myth about Syzran was part of Glyuk'oZa's PR campaign and the legend surrounding the emergence of a new artist on the music market. In 1993, at the age of seven, she entered a music school in the piano class, but dropped out after a year. As a child, she attended many school clubs, from chess to ballet. Natalya enrolled in Moscow secondary school No. 308, where she studied until the 9th grade. At the age of 11, Natalya auditioned to take part in the children's TV magazine "Yeralash" on Channel One. Over the following years, Natalya appeared in several episodes of the TV magazine, including "Poganki" in 1997. Natalya was approved for the episode "Unpleasant News" without a casting. In the same year, Natalya appeared in the music video for the band 7B's song "Molodye vetra".

Music producer Maksim Fadeev came up with a new project with a simple musical form and a "cartoonish" voice. The producer composed the first single, "Shuga", for the project on his son Savva's children's synthesizer, recalling a hurdy-gurdy melody he had heard in childhood. Following the first song, Fadeev composed several more tracks: "Nenavizhu", "Malysh", and "Nevesta". About a month later, Fadeev handed Aleksandr Kushnir promo versions of the first five tracks. This maxi-single included "Glyukoza nostra", "Asta la vista", "Malysh", "Nevesta", and "Shuga". The producer himself, as well as his wife, sang on the trial demo recordings. In April, the producer from Prague sent the album's first single, "Shuga", to Russian radio stations, which refused to put it on air. Later, in a press release, the production center stated that the single "Shuga" went unnoticed on radio "because of the pre-New Year bustle". For this reason, they decided not to release an animated video for the debut single, but to rework it for the second single, "Nenavizhu". Glyukoza's image in the videos - a girl with pigtails and glasses - was created at the "Mukha" studio in Ufa with the participation of Maksim Fadeev. Only after the image was created was Natalya Ionova invited by Maksim Fadeev to join the project.
